How is this different from TennisPAL, USTA, or the Slack channels?+
Three problems most platforms ignore. Sandbagging: you might fudge your starting rating, but every match moves your number and a few results expose one that’s set too low. No-shows: every profile shows a real show-up rate. Ghost towns: we only surface players active this week. Austin only, on purpose.
How do you know how good someone is?+
You start by telling us your USTA rating, or taking a quick quiz if you don’t know it. That seeds your number. After that it’s all match results: beat someone above you and it jumps, lose to someone below and it drops. New numbers start a little loose and tighten up fast as you play.
Will it work outside Austin?+
We’re starting here because it’s where we play. New cities get added once Austin is working. We’d rather be the best app in one city than a ghost town in twenty.
